Bhanu Choudhrie, Indian Entrepreneur

Born in New Delhi, India in 1978, Bhanu Choudhrie has built a high-flying corporate career as the founder and chief investor of the C&C Alpha Group, which holds stakes in real estate, healthcare, aviation, banking, utilities, and hospitality. The conglomerate acts to develop both existing businesses and to incubate new ones.

A graduate of Boston University’s program in International Business & Marketing, Choudhrie joined the Owner Management Program at Harvard. Since 2001, he has developed C&C Alpha into a huge and successful empire while sitting on the boards of directors and executive boards of a number of prestigious organizations, from Customers Bancorp to Atlantic Coast Financial Corporation.

Beyond his contributions to the world of business and finance, Bhanu Choudhrie has worked with a number of philanthropic organizations. Most prominent of these is Path to Success, which provides educational assistance to those of limited means or with chronic heath conditions.

The roots of Choudhrie’s entrepreneurial drive can be traced to his family in India. His grandfather was a real estate developer and his father and uncle started a successful TV export business. Bhanu Choudhrie is an early riser who spends most of his morning attentively watching financial and investment trends on television. He heads into his office at 10 and out at 6, making time to maintain an adequate work/life balance.

This is, perhaps, one of the factors that draws him to the health and lifestyle sector. “The increasing interest in the health and wellbeing sector and the changing approach towards maximising not only your own health and wellbeing but that of others around you.”

The Indian entrepreneur always makes time to go to the gym or to his boxing hobby, and attributes health and self-care for much of his success. Bhanu Choudhrie finds the struggle against anxiety and self-doubt to be one of the central concerns of his life.
